Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Maison Verdelle (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit or use our website (the “Website”), purchase our products or services, interact with us, or otherwise communicate with us. “Personal data” or “personal information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

Please read this Policy carefully. By accessing or using our Website or services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1) WHO WE ARE

1.1 This Website is operated by STACK BRANDS LIMITED, trading as Maison Verdelle. Our registered address is Flat 5, 4/F, Won Hing Building, 74-78 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong.

1.2 We sell and ship within the United States only.

1.3 This Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to maison-verdelle.com and to our customer support.

1.4 For security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal and other confidential data (e.g., orders or inquiries), this Website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the string “https://” and the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.

2) CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we update the date at the top. Material changes will be signposted on the Website.

3) HOW WE COLLECT AND USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect personal information from three sources: what you give us directly, what we collect automatically as you use the Website, and what we receive from third parties.

In addition to the specific uses described below, we may use your personal information to:

  • Communicate with you.
  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Website, products, and services.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.
  • Enforce our terms and policies.
  • Protect or defend our rights and the rights of our users or others.

3.1 Information you give us directly

Name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, order contents, account credentials, support correspondence, and anything you choose to include in a review or message.

3.2 Information we collect automatically

Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, referring pages, pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, and time spent. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.

3.3 Information we receive from third parties

Our payment providers, shipping carriers, and advertising and analytics partners may provide us with information relating to your order or your interaction with our advertising.

3.4 How we use it

To process and deliver your order; to take payment; to handle returns, exchanges and support; to send marketing you have asked for; to measure and improve the Website; to show you advertising; and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

4) COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

4.1 Why we use cookies

Some cookies are necessary for the Website to work — keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, securing checkout. Others measure how the Website is used, remember preferences, or support advertising.

4.2 Managing cookies

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or set your preferences. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

You can also control cookies in your browser. Most browsers accept cookies by default and allow you to be warned before one is set, to decide case by case, or to refuse them entirely. See your browser’s help pages for how. Blocking or deleting cookies may limit how the Website works.

Global Privacy Control. If you visit with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal enabled, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser and device you are using. See our Do not sell or share my personal information page.

4.3 Shopify cookies

Our Website runs on Shopify, which sets cookies necessary to operate the store and the checkout.

5) DATA COLLECTION WHEN VISITING OUR WEBSITE (SERVER LOG FILES)

Our hosting provider automatically records standard access data: browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, hostname, time of request, and IP address. We use this to keep the Website stable, secure and functioning, and to investigate abuse.

6) CONTACTING US

If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we use the information you provide to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence.

7) DATA PROCESSING WHEN OPENING A CUSTOMER ACCOUNT OR PLACING AN ORDER

7.1 Customer accounts

If you open an account, we store the details you enter so you can place orders and see your order history. You may close your account by contacting support.

7.2 Order processing and sharing with third parties

To fulfil an order we share what is needed with shipping carriers, payment providers, and suppliers who dispatch goods. They receive only what their task requires.

8) USE OF YOUR DATA FOR DIRECT MARKETING

8.1 Subscribing to our email newsletter

If you subscribe, we use your email address to send marketing about our products. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time at no cost.

8.2 Newsletter to existing customers

If you have bought from us, we may email you about similar products. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting support.

9) PAYMENT SERVICES

Payment is processed by our payment providers, currently Whop and Ocean Payments. The payment methods available to you are shown at checkout. We do not store full card numbers. Sales tax is calculated at checkout from your shipping address.

10) REMINDER TO SUBMIT A REVIEW

After a purchase we may email you asking for a review. You can opt out using the link in that email.

11) USER-GENERATED CONTENT

If you submit a review, photo or other content, it may be published on the Website along with the name you supply. Do not submit anything you do not want shown publicly.

12) ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS PARTNERS

We work with the partners below. They may set cookies or similar identifiers and receive information about your visit, which can be used to measure our advertising and to show you ads elsewhere.

  • Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads, including remarketing and conversion measurement.
  • Meta — the Meta pixel, for measurement and advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
  • TikTok — the TikTok pixel, for measurement and advertising.
  • Pinterest — the Pinterest tag, for measurement and advertising.
  • Microsoft — Microsoft Advertising and Microsoft Clarity, for measurement and for understanding how pages are used.
  • Klaviyo — email and on-site marketing.

Sharing personal information with advertising partners so they can show you ads on other websites may be treated as a “sale”, “sharing”, or “targeted advertising” under some U.S. state privacy laws. Section 16 explains your rights, and the Do not sell or share my personal information page explains how to opt out.

13) THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND LINKS

Our Website links to sites we do not control. This Policy does not cover them. Please read their own privacy policies.

14) CHILDREN’S DATA

Our Website and services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. We will take steps to delete such information. We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” personal data of individuals under 16 years of age.

15) SECURITY AND RETENTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. However, no security measure is entirely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of your data, especially while in transit. Please avoid sending sensitive information through unsecured channels.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. The exact retention period varies depending on the type of data and the circumstances of its collection.

16) YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Know / Access. Request access to the personal information we hold about you and obtain a copy.
  • Right to Delete. Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct. Request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal information.
  • Right to Data Portability. Obtain a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. See Do not sell or share my personal information.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information, where applicable law provides it.
  • Withdrawal of Consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
  • Non-Discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, and residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and Oregon) have analogous rights. We sell and ship only within the United States; visitors from the EU, the EEA or the UK may nonetheless have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and we will honour a request made on that basis.

17) HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS, AND COMPLAINTS

Email support@maison-verdelle.com with your request and the email address used for your order. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we may ask for information that lets us match your request to our records. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf where state law allows; we may ask for proof of authorisation. We respond within the period applicable law allows.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal” and your reasons. We will respond to the appeal in writing. Where your state provides one, you may also contact your state Attorney General. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority or similar regulatory body.

18) INTERNATIONAL USERS

We are based in Hong Kong and we sell to customers in the United States. Your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including Hong Kong and the United States, by us and by the service providers named in this Policy.

19) CONTACT US

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at support@maison-verdelle.com or through our contact form. For the purpose of applicable data protection laws and if not explicitly stated otherwise, we are the data controller of your personal information.
